Tu Qinghua, Deputy Chief Engineer from China National Petroleum & Chemical Planning Institute delivers her report of Prospect of PX-PTA industry development against the background of energy saving and carbon reduction

Ms. Tu elaborated the report in three parts. 

Part I: PX-PTA industry development status. China PX and PTA market shares in global industry expanded and international influence further enhanced. PX capacity expanded rapidly and the self-sufficient rate increased obviously. PTA capacity was in the peak expansion cycle and the exports could rise.

Part II: the impact from energy saving and carbon emission reduction on industry development. In this part, Ms. Tu introduced the calculation, standard, status and characteristics of energy consumption in PX and PTA production, as well as the method to measure the carbon dioxide emission, etc.

Part III: PX-PTA industry development outlook. The upgrading of industry is accelerating. Ms. Tu also analyzes PX and PTA competitiveness from the perspective of structural upgrading, carbon reduction from the source as well as the technological process. Last but not least, Ms. Tu shared the high-quality development path.
